Event start!
[When the Infinite Improbability Drive kicks on this fine evening, there is no announcement. Not that one is needed, as it's pretty obvious from the sparkling sand and beautiful ocean beachfronts that the Drive is on and functioning! Anyone passing by the entrance to the bridge might notice a sign, scrawled in messy handwriting and hastily taped to the door.]

Life's a beach, and now, for a limited time, so is the Thor! Don't panic if you notice a few missing walls - just take a deep, healthy breath of that salty fresh sea air! The ground is covered in powder-fine sand, there are mysterious streches of water that look and act just like an ocean (even though they're much smaller!), and the blazing sun is beating down from an azure blue sky...
...Wait, what happened to the ceilings?
...
...Try not to worry too much about that one.
Some key points to keep in mind!
× The trusty towel that was bestowed upon you on your arrival is now a lovely beach towel! Spread it out on the sand to nap on while you get some sun, or use it to dry off after a dip in the ocean!
× All your clothes? You left those at home, silly, all you need on the beach is a swimsuit, maybe some sandals, sarongs for the ladies and tacky bright Hawaian shirts for the gents. Or was that sarongs for the gents and tacky Hawaian shirts for the ladies? Hm...well, we're sure you can figure that one out on your own!
× Don't forget about all those fun-looking water parks!
× Fire up the grill or get some stakes for the fire pit! Outdoor dining is best over an open blaze, and preferably with lots of friends!
× We hear sand castle competitions can be pretty fun! Someone ought to organize one...
× Fireworks. Every. Night. Don't bother complaining about the noise, no one knows where they're coming from. You can put in special requests, though! ...Yeah, don't ask us how that one works, either. >.>
× Did you hear about the watermelon prizes? ...What do you mean that watermelon is trying to escape? Oh! It really is, huh? Catch that watermelon! It could have an awesome thing inside!
× We dunno, what else do you do when you go to the beach? Surf? Fish? Beach activities aren't restricted to just the things we have listed! They're just a starting point to give you guys some ideas.
ETA: × As always, tucked away among the crazy IID madness are pockets of normality - a normal bedroom here, a regular old office building there...that sort of thing, for use as needed by players who'd rather their characters avoid the event.
The event starts now and will run through the end of Saturday, June 30th (probably at about this time), at which point we'll unveil the July planet!
